133 Garibong-dong is located in the east part of the whole Garibong-dong, facing the Guro Digital Complex. On the site, yang-giwajips, built using western tile roofs in the 1960s, and beoljips for workers at the Guro Industrial Complex still existed. Some of these houses are in poor condition and need refurbishment. Accordingly, social housing with an improved environment for office workers in Guro Digitial Complex was planned.
The project demolishes 26 houses, including some yang-giwajips that had already collapsed, and provides 37 new units. To avoid harming the narrow alleys in the northern part, two-story row houses in the north and five-story houses in the south are planned. The entrance of each unit is connected to alleys, which act as in-between spaces among residents.
One of the aims to deal with this project is to provide green, public space while maintaining its street life. Urban farming and new courtyards solve the lack of open space, and people can socialize with each other. Since the office workers are the main target, the disconnection between Guro Digital Complex and the site was solved by making an underground parking lot and demolishing fences.
가리봉동 동쪽 끝에 위치한 133번지 일대는 구로디지털단지와 직접 면하고 있다. 현재 대지에는 1960년대 기존 초가집을 허물고 콘크리트 혹은 조적조에 개량 기와를 얹은 양기와집과 1970년대 이후 구로공단 근로자들이 거주했던 벌집이 남아있으나, 대부분 낙후되어 구조가 약해져있다. 노후화된 주택 일부를 재정비하고, 구로디지털단지와 연계를 통해 가리봉동 133번지의 재생을 도모한다.
이미 무너져버린 몇몇 양기와집을 포함하여 심하게 노후화가 진행된 26가구의 주택을 재정비하고, 구로디지털단지와 연계하여 총 37가구 규모의 공공주택을 신축한다. 대지 북쪽과 남쪽의 공공주택의 형태는 대지 형태 및 기존 주택과의 관계를 고려한 결과이다. 기존 대지의 작은 골목들은 각 가구의 출입구와 연결되며, 주민 사이의 전이공간(轉移空間)으로 활용한다.
한편 프로젝트의 목표 중 하나는 마을 곳곳의 골목을 유지하면서도 현 대지에 결여된 오픈 스페이스를 제공하는 것이다. 도시농장과 마당이 포함된 새 공공주택은 이러한 문제를 해결하고 주민들 사이의 유대감을 형성한다. 대지와 구로디지털단지 사이의 통행을 가로막는 장애물들은 제거되며, 구로디지털단지와의 단절은 극복된다.
